Water Element in Feng Shui and Crystal Energy

Welcome to the Water Element page in our Feng Shui Center

In Feng Shui, Water is one of five elements of all energy, also known as (Qi, Chi, Prana, Life force).

      The other elements are:

(Click above links to learn more)

Each of these elements work together and are critical to keep the flow of Yin Yang (positive and negative) forces in balance in our lives and in our homes.

When this force is healthy and life bringing (positive energy). It drifts and wanders, flowing easily and bringing the breath of life.

When this force becomes unhealthy (negative energy) it is either blocked and becomes stagnant or becomes destructive.

These elements form a continuum of creations and destruction. Each element enhances one element and reduces another. Crystals can be used to enhance and reduce the elements of energy to allow the right energy in the right part of your space.

The Five Elements of Feng Shui (Fire, Earth, Metal, Water and Wood) “feed” and support the next, for example, Fire makes Earth.  We know this to be true as we see the ash when the fire cools.  Earth, when pressed down, makes Metal.  Metal, when molded, holds Water.  And, Water, is essential for plant growth, or Wood.  What feeds a fire?  Wood, of course; and the circle is complete.  Just as the elements can support each other, they can also be used to control each other when one element overwhelms.

According to feng shui experts, proper balance of the five elements and harmonizing the flow of energies in your home can bring numerous benefits such as:

      • Attract wealth and prosperity
      • Attract love
      • Keep your relationship stable
      • Achieve career success
      • Improve your health
      • Increase your vitality
      • Guard against misfortune

Key Qualities and Characteristics of the Element - Water:

      1. Flow and Fluidity:

      • It symbolizes the smooth and adaptable movement of chi (life force energy) through a space.

      2. Emotion and Intuition:

      • It is associated with the north direction, which is connected to the emotional and spiritual aspects of life.

      • Its flowing nature represents the continuous movement of resources and opportunities.

In Feng Shui, the water element is often represented by water features like fountains, aquariums, or even the placement of mirrors to symbolize the flow of water. The color black or dark blue is also associated with the water element.

Proper placement and balance of the water element in a space can help enhance the flow of energy (Qi, Chi, Prana, Life force), promoting emotional balance, attract prosperity and abundance. 10. Regular Cleansing

      • Energy Maintenance: Cleanse your crystals regularly to maintain their energetic properties, using methods such as smudging or placing them in water (if safe), like Shungite.
      • Smudge with sage: To cleanse your crystals and remove any stagnant energy, regularly smudge them with sage or another cleansing herb.
      • Sunlight or moonlight: Place your crystals under direct sunlight or moonlight to recharge them.

By implementing these practices, you can effectively use blue and black crystals to bring water energy into your space, fostering a serene and harmonious environment.

Why Crystals are important in Feng Shui:

Crystals and Gemstones amplify Feng Shui because Crystals themselves are powerhouses full of energy! They store energy, and move chi or energy through space or a person.

Crystal healers typically place their crystals on body chakras to influence the body and heal sickness.  Placing crystals in specific locations in your home can have much of the same effects but on a broader plane.

Placed in the correct location will keep the Universal Life Force (Qi, Chi, Prana) energy flowing and balanced, so that we may experience happiness, contentment and prosper.

        What is a Bagua Map?

A bagua map is a tool used in modern forms of feng shui to map a room or location and see how the different sections correspond to different aspects in one's life. These sections are believed to relate to every area
or aspect of life and are divided into such categories as: fame, relationships/marriage, children/creativity, helpful people/travel, career, inner knowledge, fam-ily/ancestors/health, and wealth/blessings.

In this system, the map is intended to be used over the land, one's home, office or desk to find areas lacking good chi, and to show where there are negative or missing spaces that may need rectifying or enhancing in life or the environment.

For example, if the bagua grid is placed over the entire house plan and it shows the toilet, bathroom, laundry, or kitchen in the wealth/blessings area it would be considered that the money coming into that particular environment would disappear very fast, as if to be 'going down the drain.'

What is a Feng Shui Entryway?

The main entrance of a home is more than just a way to enter the house. It is believed to be the gateway to success and advancement in life. Feng shui considers the main entrance to be one of the key areas of a home, often referred to as the "mouth of qi" in Classical Chinese philosophy, representing the flow of life force.

How to check the Feng Shui direction of my front door?

To check the feng shui direction of your front door, you can use a compass while standing at the entrance facing outward. Repeat the process a few times to ensure accuracy. Align the compass's 0°/360° mark with the north pole to determine the direction you're facing.

What does my Feng Shui Entrance direction mean?

The direction of your front door is said to indicate the type of energy in your home. Some say that south is the most auspicious direction because it allows light, peace, and "chi" (life force) to enter. Others say that a direct line of sight from front to back is poor feng shui because it lets energy rush out without circulating. To address this, you can try placing a feng shui crystal ball between the two doors to disperse the qi, chi or Prana energy.
